Recently, I have began to close in more on myself as a person.I am beginning to ask questions like; who am I really? and what AM i here for?Whats unique about me and what am I bringing on the table? Have you asked yourself these questions too? I’ve since realized now more than ever, I need to build my belief systems, a lifestyle, friendships, my way of thinking, my skills and a tonne of other things.

I have embarked on a journey of self discovery and by the help of the Holy spirit of God, I know I’ll turn out to be all that God intends me to be.However, the most challenging part of self discovery is consistency.In order to study or find out more about any subject, which is in this case your true self, you require to be consistent. Consistency is the ability to keep at something. If we only scratch the surface of self discovery, we may never enjoy the benefits of fully living out our potential. It is true to say, that self discovery never ends. Each and every single day, we keep discovering something new about ourselves. In fact as Christians, the bible charges us to constantly examine ourselves

2 cor 13:5

Examine yourselves as to whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves. Do you not know yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you?—unless indeed you ^[a]are disqualified.

As a christian, the sure way to discover yourself is by first discovering who God is. The bible says we are made in the image and likeness of God. This means that as God is, so are we. If we discover Gods nature, we have discovered our very own nature. The Holy Spirit enables us to know God. He reveals to us the deep things of God,His will and the things that please Him.

1 Cor 2: 10

But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God. ¹¹ For what man knows the things of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so no one knows the things of God except the Spirit of God. ¹² Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God.

To know God, we need to develop a relationship with Him.

Just like with any other relationship, communication is key. Each time we set time alone with God, we should aim at communication; speaking and listening. It is in quietening our hearts before the presence of God,that we can truly hear His heart on any issue. A friend of mine once told me, God is always speaking, its just that we don’t pay attention or recognize His voice. The word of God reminds us in

John 10:27,28 : My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.

Ever been quiet before the presence of God with just an aim of hearing Him? Simply say, Father, I love you. I would like to hear from you today, Speak to me through your spirit.

You will be amazed to realize how willing our loving father is to share His heart with you. All the best as you allow God to take you through the wonderful journey of self discovery.
